Over the last 10 years, Ali Hassan has done a variety of comedy scriptwriting for television - including for a sitcom starring himself and fellow comedian and friend, Dave Merheje.  He has done speechwriting, script punch-up and co-written the script for an upcoming film that he also stars in, called Stealing Vows. 

On September 27, 2022, Ali’s memoir, Is There Bacon in Heaven?, comes out with Simon & Schuster Canada.  .  This comedic memoir grew out of his one person show, Muslim Interrupted.  It is an exploration of his ins and outs and ups and downs with faith, and embracing his heritage while still following his passions.  

“As a father of four, I want to explain my point of view to my kids, without just “giving them” an identity as a cultural Muslim.” At its core, it’s a book about the need for belonging and accepted. And it’s unique for the number of times a book mentions Pepperoni. Seriously, it might be a record.
